Tameside crime reporting

Tameside crime reporting

Raising awareness of our anonymous crime reporting service.

Our aim in this campaign is to raise awareness of our 100% anonymous crime reporting service to the people of Tameside.

And to let them know that we take information on crime in over 150 languages.

This website also has a translation option in several languages – see the top right of this page for the language choices.

Our research shows that over 95% of the public who contact Crimestoppers would not contact the police. These people are often the most vulnerable in society, the closest to the crimes and criminals, and in most need of our service.

There are also misconceptions about who we are, with many people believing that we’re a part of the police service. In fact, we are an independent charity providing a public service.

Increasing the quantity and quality of information received from the Tameside public will lead to more arrests, charges and convictions.

The information we take and pass on to the relevant authorities also helps them to build a more accurate crime intelligence picture of the Tameside area.

Here are some examples of the range of criminal activities we take information on.
