How to keep your money safe when abroad.
Before you head off on your next holiday, it’s important to think about the safety of your money and valuables while you’re away. There are several ways you can avoid becoming a victim of theft whilst abroad.
- Try using a prepaid travel card and avoid carrying large sums of cash around with you.
- Don’t leave any of your bags or belongings unattended at any time.
- Take a photocopy of your passport and any other ID in case they are lost.
- Take a photo of your valuables before you go. If they go missing, it’ll be easier to identify them.
- Ensure you know where the nearest British embassy is to your destination.
- Make use of your accommodation's safe, if one is provided.
