5 top tips to survive and have a safe Halloween

It’s Halloween again, a time of year where kids and adults alike dress up in costumes from the haunting to the humorous to celebrate. It’s all a bit of fun until somebody thinks it’s funny to turn your house into a scene from The Walking Dead and you run screaming for the hills!
Imagine how much more prepared you could have been had you read our blog on five top tips for surviving Halloween safely.
1.Even Dracula needs supervision
On these dark nights, your little Dracula or ‘Draculisa’ is going to need an adult out with them for trick or treating.
2.Vampires are safer under street-lighting If your fanged fiends are old enough to go out alone
Make sure they know to stick to well-lit areas, wear reflective clothing and carry a torch.
3.Not everyone wants a visit from a pumpkin, no matter how cute
Respect people’s choices if they do or do not open their doors.
4.Tricks should be fun, not dangerous
Make sure any tricks don’t damage people’s property.
5.Zombie dodging
If you're not taking part, why not display a ‘no trick or treaters’ poster if you don’t want knocks (or even claws) on the door.
Keeping an eye out on Halloween
For most people, Halloween is an excuse to dress up and have a bit of fun. Unfortunately, some people also use this as an opportunity to cause trouble in their community.
We want people to be safe in their community so if you see or hear anything during Halloween that you think should be reported to the police but you don’t want to be identified, you can contact us completely anonymously.
