Arson attacks in Leicester prompts reward

A reward of up to £3,000 is being offered in the hope of encouraging people to speak up on a series of arson attacks over the last two years in Melton Mowbray.
Over 20 arson attacks have occurred on and around the Fairmead Estate, with motor vehicles and properties targeted, with a second fire often being set whilst the fire brigade is in attendance to the original fire.
These attacks have had significant emotional and financial impact on the victims, and whilst there have been no injuries as a result of these attacks, our priority is to keep the community safe.
This is why we are offering a reward of up to £3,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for this series of attacks.
Lydia Patsalides, our East Midlands Manager , said: “It is staggering to think that over 20 arson attacks have been carried out and nobody has been hurt.
“As a charity, we want to support the local police with keeping our communities safe, and that is why we are offering this reward for information.
“At Crimestoppers, our charity believes everyone has the right to feel safe from crime. If you have any information on this series of arson attacjs, but have been unable to come forward so far or feel unable to speak to police, you can always contact our charity.
