Over £800 raised at West Country Golf Day

Over £800 raised at West Country Golf Day

Sunny skies greeted ten teams of golfers at Long Ashton Golf Course for this year’s Annual ‘Crimestoppers in the West Country’ Charity Golf Day on Friday 15th June.

The fine weather continued all day, which coupled with a first class course made for a great day of golf. It was great to have our Chief Executive Mark Hallas playing alongside our volunteer committee chair and organiser of the event, Peter Anderson.

Players were treated to homemade cakes at a pop up CommuniTea on the tenth hole run by volunteer committee members Andy Knight and Harriette Dottridge, in celebration of Crimestoppers 30th Anniversary this year. In 30 years we have kept our promise of anonymity to people reporting – our stoppers.

Our thanks goes to all the players and supporters who are helping communities across our region to speak up, stop crime and stay safe whilst remaining 100% anonymous. Always.

It was a great day with lots of smiles and laughter and high scores. Well done to North Somerset Council as the winning team. Over £800 was raised for the charity, which is a fantastic amount and will secure valuable campaigns to help communities across the West Country. Reports can be made to Crimestoppers 24hrs a day on 0800 555 111 or online via crimestoppers-uk.org .
