Good news on our youth service Fearless.org campaign

Northamptonshire's December campaign sees positive results

A campaign to raise awareness of serious and organised crime by our youth service Fearless.org, has seen a positive response since its launch in Northamptonshire in December.

The campaign, which was aimed at 13-19 year-olds and ran across social media, had two main goals – to educate young people on some of the more serious crimes in the county and, for those that might have information on those committing related offences, to appeal to them to contact us.

Results over the two-month campaign were positive, with information received from Northamptonshire through the Fearless website for the first time, while there was also six pieces of information on guns, six on knives and 47 on drugs passed to us during this campaign.

Criminal gangs, drugs, human trafficking, violence, intimidation and exploitation of young people are all crimes Fearless is keen to raise awareness of, while also looking to gain information.

Fearless.org information packs were sent out to 65 schools in the area to educate youngsters on the different crime types, which reached over 2,000 students.

“We are really encouraged by the response we’ve had to our campaign and it’s positive to see so many young people engaged and educated on serious and organised crime.

“It’s important that we don’t judge young people, but instead inform and educate them, and that’s what we hope to do through Fearless.org.

“It’s also about giving them a voice. If they have information on crime, they have a service that allows them to stay 100% anonymous,, without the fear of repercussions.

“Our charity has always kept its promise of anonymity to everyone who contacts us.”
Lydia Patsalides, East Midlands Regional Manager
