Wolverhampton residents urged to speak up

Wolverhampton residents urged to speak up and help keep their community safe
Wolverhampton is working to clean up its streets as it embarks on a new campaign which sees residents, businesses and public organisations join forces with us to tackle criminal activity and fly-tipping.
The partnership also aims to remove drug dealers from the local area, as well as taking a stand against fly-tipping and anti-social behaviour.
We are keen to boost information from local residents who are unwilling to speak directly to the police as this will help make the area safer and protect the most vulnerable from harm. Whilst most people contact the charity because they wish to `do the right thing’, there is a cash reward of up to £1,000 if the information you give us leads to a positive result.
This pilot campaign - with Midland Heart Housing Association, Wolverhampton Homes, community organisations, council teams and police - will empower people to feel better about their area as they make a positive difference.
The appeal to contact the charity will be sent directly to homes and smartphones in the area and painted onto footpaths using a special paint that lasts for months. There is also a page about anti-social behaviour here on our website.
***If you have any information about a crime, you can contact us 100% anonymously on 0800 555 111 or use our anonymous online form.***

“A big ‘thank you’ to those who are contacting us. We really care about people who feel intimidated by drug dealers and others and we are determined to help the local community help themselves. Crimestoppers offers 100% guaranteed anonymity to everyone who contacts us and in over 30 years, we have always kept our promise of anonymity.”
“Locals often do not want to speak directly to the authorities because they are afraid of repercussions or are fearful of revenge. So, our charity is working with Housing Associations to help tenants and residents help protect both themselves and their streets from nuisances, fly-tipping and other crime, by reassuring them it’s safe to pass on what you know to Crimestoppers.”

“We are delighted to be working with the Crimestoppers charity and partner organisations on this new initiative where Crimestoppers will accept reports of anti-social behaviour in addition to other crime, where residents are fearful of reporting issues to us directly.
“We are committed to tackling anti-social behaviour experienced by some of our residents and in the wider community, and we need the support of local residents to help us do this.”

“The wellbeing and safety of residents is and always will be our top priority at Wolverhampton Homes. We believe that everyone has the right of peaceful enjoyment of their home and their neighbourhood.
“Our teams work tirelessly to develop communities and help people to get on in life. Our greatest asset in tackling anti-social behaviour in local communities is the communities themselves. We implore residents to use Crimestoppers to report incidents anonymously and help us to stamp out criminal and nuisance behaviour.”
