£5,000 reward for information after man needs 150 stitches following attack in home

A shocking incident in which a man was left with serious injuries needing 150 stitches, after being assaulted in his own home in Larkhall, South Lanarkshire, has prompted the charity Scotland Crimestoppers to offer a reward.

The victim was at home in Hawick Crescent during the afternoon of Friday 29 March 2019 when a car pulled up and two men rushed into his home through an unlocked front door.
 
He was slashed across the face multiple times with a blade which resulted in the 36 year old suffering life-changing injuries. He was taken by ambulance to Wishaw General Hospital and later transferred to Monklands Hospital where he was treated for severe facial injuries requiring 150 stitches.
 
The two men who entered the house have been described as:
 
  • White, 5 foot 6 inches, slim with short dark hair. He was wearing black clothing.
  • White, around 6 foot 2 inches tall, dark hair, believed to be in his 40s, stocky/muscular build with tattoos on both arms. He was wearing a short-sleeved t-shirt and blue jeans.
 The driver of the car remained in the vehicle during the incident. The vehicle was a grey/silver Jaguar X type.
