Fatal stabbing of a father at home in front of his children prompts our £10,000 reward

We have issued an appeal for information with a reward to help solve the brutal murder of a man in Greenock who was knifed to death whilst his children were hiding in a nearby room.
Christopher Nicol, who was 27 years old, was attacked in his home on Maple Road on Thursday 26 September this year after a man pushed his way into the property and knifed the victim multiple times.
The attack occurred around 9pm and Mr Nicol was pronounced dead at scene shortly after.
***We are now offering a reward of up to £10,000 for information given exclusively and anonymously to our charity – online or via calling 0800 555 111 - that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for this murder.***
A description of the attacker has been issued. He is described as a white male, aged between 20 and 30 years old, around 5 foot 10 inches tall, of slim build with a local `Inverclyde’ accent. He wore a black `beanie’ style hat possibly Timberland in design, a black scarf, dark upper clothing, dark trousers and dark footwear. He had a`ragged’ reddish/brown beard and moustache and his teeth were yellow/brown with some teeth missing.
It is believed he may be a local man and knew Mr Nicol.
“The horrific circumstances of this murder have left Christopher Nicol’s family and friends devastated and shocked the local community. For someone to show such violence in front of young children is extremely distressing and a worry to everyone in the area. The man involved is clearly dangerous and must be caught before anyone else is harmed.
