Parents' desperate appeal with £20,000 reward over murder of daughter 27 years ago

A former British solider and his wife have partnered with our charity to offer a reward of up to £20,000 in the hope of finding who was responsible for their daughter’s death.

Christina Menzies was just 16 years old when she was killed in Germany where her father, Staff Sergeant John Menzies, was stationed at the time. On the night of Saturday 12 June 1993, she visited Club 47, which is located at RAF Gutersloh Station. She never returned home and her body was discovered the next day (Sunday 13 June 1993) around 10 kilometres away. She had been strangled.

Those who can provide information as to Christina’s whereabouts between leaving the club at around midnight on 12 June 1993 and the discovery of her body at 4.45pm on Sunday 13 June 1993 are urged to come forward.

Information is also sought about Christina's shoes, a pair of black leather-heeled shoes with a cross-over securing strap and metal buckle, which were missing when her body was discovered; and, a Union Jack duvet cover which may have been used to cover or move her body.

It’s hoped that there may be someone who has held back information because they did not want others to know they were there or because they may have been protecting friends.

***A reward of up to £20,000 is available for information given exclusively to our charity that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for Christina Menzies’ murder***

“We know that people’s loyalties can change over time and we desperately hope that when nudged, someone’s conscience will be nagging them to set the record straight.”
Christine Menzies, , Christina's Mother

“If you know anything that can help the investigation and get justice for our much-loved daughter, please do the right thing and speak up. You can contact the Royal Military Police or, if you prefer to stay 100% anonymous and maybe eligible for the reward, then contact the charity Crimestoppers.

“There can’t be anything worse than not knowing what happened to your loved one in these circumstances. Our daughter never came home and 27 years on we still have no answers as to what happened or who is responsible.”

John Menzies,, Christina's Father
