Lord Ashcroft offers us up to £50,000 for retweets

Exciting news - fundraising for Crimestoppers just got easier! Our founder and Chair Lord Ashcroft is donating up to £50,000 to our charity to help promote our 100% anonymous Covid Fraud Hotline.

 Over 150 Covid support schemes have been introduced by the government to help those struggling financially, but a minority of fraudsters have been abusing these schemes by claiming loans and grants illegally.
 
The new Crimestoppers Covid Fraud Hotline (Covidfraudhotline.org, 0800 587 5030) has been set up to help stop those illegally claiming Covid government grants and loans. It offers an opportunity for the public to call anonymously and free of charge in order to report suspected fraudulent activity.

Lord Ashcroft has generously offered to donate £1 for every retweet his post on Twitter gets, up to 50,000 retweets, in order to help us continue our work in giving you a way to speak up and stop crime, 100% anonymously.
 
It’s not the first time Lord Ashcroft has used his Twitter feed to good effect; back in 2017, he made a similar offer on behalf of another cause close to his heart, raising a substantial sum for the UK Sepsis Trust.
