Intelligence Support Co-ordinator
Nicola Roadnight-Brooks is an Intelligence Support Co-ordinator at Crimestoppers. Find out what her day-to-day duties are...
What does your job at Crimestoppers involve?
My job is to provide intelligence research and analysis to support all key areas including our business development team in commercial data, campaigns in pre, during and post analysis and enhance overall delivery of evaluations. I’m also developing the use of ESRI, a geographical mapping tool, and our database for improved data research that lets us visualise, question, analyse, and interpret crime data to understand relationships, patterns, and trends.
What is your favourite part of the job?
The best part of the job is evaluating the outcome of intelligence research, by making sense of the data and presenting it in a visually pleasing way that’s easy to understand and shows significance and worth, and allows for educated decisions to be made.
What opportunities have you had to develop your skills while you’ve been at Crimestoppers?
I have been with the charity for 10 years. The progression has been encouraging with a few changes in positions since starting with Crimestoppers. Progression has been provided thanks to opportunities to learn new skills. Training in ESRI, and analysis have been provided for my current role, with opportunities to complete NVQ’s in past.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I enjoy reading and writing. I also like to paint when I get the chance. Last year I completed 5 years of studying nutrition which has been a huge interest for many years. I have more recently enjoyed gardening and growing vegetables.
There are always treats in Crimestoppers office. Cake or biscuits?
Biscuits every time!
