Why volunteer?

We care about communities. We care about giving opportunities to people everywhere to develop their skills and interests. Together with, and for, our volunteers, we’re committed to achieving positive change. So, whether you are looking to improve your skills, meet new people or make your community a better place to be, there are lots of reasons to volunteer for Crimestoppers.

You’ll be a champion in your community

Volunteering with Crimestoppers helps to give a voice to people who may not feel that they can speak out. Meet Nosheen, project volunteer in Birmingham.  Nosheen's work with women affected by honour-based abuse and forced marriage has helped to bring awareness to crimes that happen behind closed doors.

It’s great for your CV

From office and people management skills to planning and running events, you could learn skills and build experience that will help you if you are looking for a job. Having volunteer experience on your CV tells an employer that you like to help others and work well in a team.

It doesn’t have to take a lot of time

Whether you’ve got a couple of hours a month or a couple of hours a week, we’ve got a role for you. Take a look at  our ways to volunteer.

You’ll meet people from different backgrounds

Crimestoppers is here for everyone. Through our anonymous phone and online services we are contacted by people who may choose not to talk to the police. They could be involved in criminal activity themselves, or may know the person they are telling us about. Some of the people you meet as a Volunteer might need to use our services one day. Volunteering is an opportunity to learn about them and to help us make sure our campaigns and services are relevant. Whatever you do as a Crimestoppers volunteer you’ll be making a positive impact in the community that matters to you.
