Volunteer Chairs

Lancashire, Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Scotland West, Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire, Hampshire, Leicestershire, Essex and Wiltshire

Our teams are looking for Volunteer Chairs with a suitable range of skills to take on the role of recruiting and sustaining an active committee membership. This includes motivating, encouraging and supporting all volunteer members, enabling them to deliver effective results - as well as leading the development, implementation and tracking of an annual business/action plan and providing leadership by offering clarity, direction and guidance.

These roles also requires facilitating and maintaining positive communications both locally and centrally, providing a positive engagement model with the local police forces and encouraging local partnership working in order to promote Crimestoppers.

Volunteer Deputy Chairs

Wiltshire, Durham, Gloucestershire, Hampshire, Lincolnshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire 

We are looking for Deputy Chairs with a suitable range of skills to take on the important role of supporting their Committee Chair and being confident to stand in for the Chair when they are unavailable.

This includes motivating, encouraging and supporting all volunteer members, enabling them to deliver effective results - as well as supporting the development, implementation and tracking of an annual business/action plan.

These roles also require facilitating and maintaining positive communications both locally and centrally, providing a positive engagement model with the local police forces and encouraging local partnership working in order to promote Crimestoppers.

Volunteer Treasurers

Herfordshire, Warwickshire, Jersey, Thames Valley, Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Cambridgeshire, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, Hampshire, Essex, Suffolk and Cleveland 

Our teams are looking for Volunteer Treasurers to join us. This will involve acting as Treasurer for the committees, taking the lead on the team’s financial planning in order to support effective delivery of local campaigns, and income generation. It will also involve being accountable to the committees and the Director of Finance at Crimestoppers Central Office for the management of that fund.

Ideally you will have some financial experience, be computer literate and have an enthusiasm for the role.

Volunteer Secretaries

Humberside, Greater Manchester, Devon and Cornwall, Merseyside, Wales, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, West Country, West Yorkshire, Guernsey, Hertfordshire, Northern Ireland, Hampshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, Sussex, South Yorkshire, Cumbria, Wiltshire, Leicestershire, Durham and Northumberland 

Our local committees are looking for volunteers to act as Secretary - to help organise the committees' work and provide administration and secretarial support in assisting the committees to promote the charity. These important roles will help to keep the committees on track and aligned with the overall objectives of Crimestoppers.

We are looking for someone who is computer literate, ideally with experience in administration work - someone with a passion for helping communities fight crime and remain safe.

Volunteer Community Ambassadors Coordinators

Wiltshire, Durham, Northumberland, Gloucestershire, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Hampshire, Norfolk, Suffolk and Cleveland 

‘Community Ambassadors’ are organisations or charities that work within the local community to reduce crime and protect vulnerable individuals. Their staff and volunteers act as advocates for Crimestoppers; telling their client groups and networks about the services we provide.

The Community Ambassadors Coordinator is responsible for recruiting and sustaining Community Ambassadors. This includes recruiting, training, motivating, encouraging and supporting all Community Ambassadors, enabling them to achieve effective results.

This role also requires skills in: facilitating and maintaining positive communications locally; providing a positive engagement model with local partners, encouraging local partnership working in order to promote Crimestoppers.

Marketing Volunteers

Cambridgeshire, Hampshire and Wiltshire 

Our teams are looking for volunteers to take the lead on marketing and promotional activities for their committee. As a Marketing Volunteer you would assist with the planning and implementation of the promotional plans for a number of projects and campaigns, including liaising with the local media and handling any PR requirements.

We are looking for people who ideally have professional experience in marketing, project management skills and experience of working with the media. If you are familiar with marketing principles and are able to demonstrate enthusiasm for the role, we would like to hear from you.

Fundraiser Volunteers

Wiltshire, London, Durham, Northumberland, Hampshire, Surrey, Sussex, Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Gloucestershire and Cleveland 

We are looking for highly organised people who can help us raise the funds necessary to increase awareness of Crimestoppers and the services we provide.
 
To become a fundraiser for Crimestoppers you will need to have excellent communications skills and the enthusiasm to drum up support for our charity.
 
We primarily use fundraisers to increase the contributions of individuals and groups to our charity by building relationships and exploring new fundraising opportunities from various sources. You could be writing a bid to a trust or grant funding organisation, seeking support from a local business, working with major donors, planning a fundraising event or even taking part in a challenge event yourself.

Social Media Volunteers

Hampshire, Derbyshire, Northamptonshire, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire, Wiltshire and Guernsey  

Do you love social media? Have a few hours a week to spare? Want to enhance your CV whilst helping people to speak up and stop crime in your area?
 
We're looking for someone who can help us a few hours a week to keep our vibrant social media channels updated.
 
You’ll be sourcing stories about building safer communities and empowering people to speak up, writing posts for social media and liaising with our social media team to share ideas, stories etc.

Volunteer Events Coordinators

Hampshire, Surrey, Sussex, Durham and Wiltshire 

We’re looking for volunteers to take the lead on the delivery of specific Crimestoppers local events. This will involve liaising with stakeholders and funders, running meetings of the event team when appropriate and providing leadership to ensure that the events run smoothly and happen on time.
 
You’ll be IT literate, with access to your own computer and the internet, and have experience of working on events from inception to delivery. We’re looking for someone who is proactive and able to achieve results, and also able to work with minimal supervision.

Support Volunteers

Gloucestershire, Hampshire, Derbyshire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire, Cleveland, Durham and Wiltshire 

These are ideal volunteering opportunities for individuals who do not have the time to dedicate to being part of the committee, but want to support the work of Crimestoppers in their local community, by providing more ‘casual’ one-off volunteering for specific events/projects.

Activities could include: attending local events promoting Crimestoppers to the public, fundraising and campaign support where required, and helping to distribute Crimestoppers literature in general to busy/popular locations in the local community.

We’re looking for people who are friendly, approachable and who will be at ease engaging with members of the community in order to promote Crimestoppers.

Ideally with previous voluntering experience, you’ll be proactive and reliable, with the ability to work as a team member to ensure successful delivery of projects/events/activities.

'Fearless' Volunteers

Durham, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire and Thames Valley

Are you passionate about young people and spreading crime awareness and prevention messages? We’re looking for volunteers to help up spread the #BeFearless message with young people in your area!

Fearless is the youth service of Crimestoppers and aims to empower young people to speak out against crime, whilst equipping them with the knowledge to make better informed decisions to keep themselves and their friends safe. As well as running campaigns and spreading awareness, we also have Fearless outreach workers operating in certain areas who provide free workshops in schools and youth organisations and information sessions for professionals. 

There are a range of activities you could be involved in, such as:

  • Assisting with our public campaigns.
  • Interacting with young people to spread awareness about Fearless.
  • Helping to research and develop our approach to emerging crimes affecting young people.
  • Joining your local Fearless Outreach Worker with workshops and training sessions
  • Assisting with social media and publicity through creating and posting content on our channels.
  • Liaising with schools and partners in your local area to increase awareness of Fearless.

This role is very flexible and if you have a specific strength or interest in a certain area, please let us know! The role may also look slightly different depending on your location.

You will need to have some experience working with young people and an interest in crime prevention and education amongst young people. It would also be beneficial if you have some public speaking experience or an interest in social media.
